The Silversmithing continues...

We just wanted to share a couple of the fantastic pieces made by our evening silversmithing students...

A seaweed pendant made by saw-pierecing and hammering techniques.
It has also been beautifully embellished with pearls.

Our beginner students created rings and bangles and practiced their forming and soldering skills to produce these simple silver pieces.

Clarise Designer Certification

Last weekend we ran the Clarise Designer Certification Levels 1 & 2 and were joined by budding Jewellery designers Caroline & Sheila.

First we started with creating some sketchbook design ideas:

The ideas were then created using Metal Clay with technical advice from Denise, Caroline produced this sea themed pendant:

Here are her other pieces created over the 4 days of the certifications course. Lots of mixed media skills and techniques were learned including soldering, hammering, doming, polishing and creating jump rings. A lot of time was spent in the fully equipped Silversmithing workshop.

When Sheila Joined for Level 2 they created some more advanced pieces including ring making and adding colour with glass, enamel and resin. Here are some examples of what they created:
